A little about ourselves
The National Hispanic Honor Society (Obsesión) has been a part of the Etowah High School community since 2005. The Society is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, Inc. (AATSP). The purpose of the Society is to recognize high achieving students for three semesters in Spanish and Portuguese in secondary schools. The Society promotes continuity of furthering studies of culture and language. Students are active participants in furthering their desire to help others and to become engaged with studies of the culture and language. Students are required to have an Academic Commitment of an ‘A’ average for three semesters and a Community Commitment as fifteen hours of community service. At least ten of the hours must be provided by the chapter Obsesión or related to Spanish.
